Luxury Adventure Amidst Iconic Swiss Alps

Grindelwald, the heart of the Jungfrau region, has become one of our favorite places in the world for its unparalleled spectacular scenery, quintessential Swiss charm, limitless recreational opportunities, and world-class cuisine.  It is the rarest of places where the reality beats any postcard.  Winter here is a true wonderland.  Sure, it is a skiing and snowboarding mecca, but that is only the beginning.  Read on below for the endless choices to make this adventure uniquely yours.

We have worked out all the logistics to free you to seamlessly explore and enjoy this magical region.  And, as with all our voyages, we are with you each step to attend to every detail and serve as your on-site, 24-hour concierge so that you make the most of your time.

Grindelwald, Jewel of the Alps

Arriving in Zurich, we are whisked by private transport to Grindelwald, the storybook Swiss town and the heart of the Jungfrau region.  We spend seven nights here in luxurious, stylish five-star accommodations with spectacular views of the iconic Eiger mountain.  A welcome dinner prepared just for us by a renown private chef is a fitting way to begin the experience.

Our home in Grindelwald are its two most luxurious and stylish chalet apartments in the heart of town, one with four bedrooms and the other with three.  Each with a sauna, top quality furnishings and appliances, they offer true five-star comfort and style.  Each features a spectacular large veranda with a breathtaking view, the perfect spot to start the day with coffee and breakfast overlooking the Alps.

Limitless Adventure Opportunities

One could pass the week simply sipping coffee and indulging in pastries from one of our favorite cafes while taking in the majestic mountain scenery from our verandas.  But we bet you will want to venture into this wonderland.  The Jungfrau Region offers countless ways to enjoy and explore the Alps and Swiss charm.

Skiing/Snowboarding

If skiing or riding is your passion, you have come to the right place.  Grindelwald is at the center of three interconnected ski areas all covered by the same pass.  Beginners and intermediates as well as advanced powderhounds will find ample terrain served by 72 lifts and offering nearly 200 miles of runs and over 7,000 feet of vertical. Not enough? There is plenty of off-piste terrain. Why ski in the Swiss Alps?

   •    Unparalleled atmosphere

   •    Affordable lift tickets (a 6-day pass is $440, compared to $1,435 at Vail)

   •    Spectacular 13,000-foot mountain peaks surround you

   •    Access to Jungfraujoch "Top of Europe" -- highest rail station

   •    Visit neighboring beautiful towns (Interlaken, Thun, Lucerne, etc.)

   •    Spectacular cable car rides

   •    Delicious cuisine

Don't ski or would rather try something different?

Sledding

Sledding (or "sledging" as the Swiss call it) is a big deal here.  Over 30 miles of sledging runs offer just about everything (including the run where a scene from On Her Majesty's Secret Service was filmed). The fox run next to the Lauberhorn route to Wengen challenges with turns.  Mürren and Männlichen offer wide variety.  Hike from Grindelwald-First to Faulhorn and you'll be rewarded with the longest sledding descent in the world -- a 10-mile adventure. And those who want even more adventure can take the Jungfrau Eiger run - at night.

Lauterbrunnen Valley

Neighboring Lauterbrunnen beckons with its spectacular valley and 72 waterfalls.  Stroll through the valley, ride a cable car to the pedestrian-only Murren, stroll through charming Gimmelwald, and ride higher to Schlithorn with its astounding panorama, revolving restaurant and museum devoted to James Bond and "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" that was filmed here.

Jungfraujoch ("Top of Europe")

Grindelwald is the gateway to Europe's highest rail station, a UNESCO World Heritage Site perched on a saddle over at over 11,300 feet above the Alps' longest glacier and surrounded by peaks of over 13,000 feet.

. . . and More

30 miles of snowshoe trails, zip line through the Alps, cross-country skiing, ice skating, curling, snow tubing, etc. await.

Zurich -- A Fondue Sendoff

March 2-3, 2025

We bid farewell to Grindelwald, but one treat remains -- Zurich, Switzerland's sophisticated but quaint gateway.  Our hotel is in the heart of Zurich's intimate Old Town.  It also is home to the city's foremost fondue restaurant, where we will host our farewell dinner.

The Mythic Difference

Our overriding mission is to take care of every detail and serve as your on-site, 24-hour concierge, freeing you to use all of your time to enjoy the experience instead of worrying about logistics.  From the moment you land in Zurich, we take care of getting you to Grindelwald in comfort, attend to your wishes during our week there, arrange the transport back to Zurich, and to the airport the day after our farewell fondue dinner.  We will provide you with a comprehensive activities guide, decipher the cable car passes that best fit your needs, help you decide on dinner choices, and help with reservations.

And although the Swiss transportation system flawlessly allows you to reach the entire region, we also will have a comfortable van at the ready to take you wherever you wish in the area if you prefer.  Want to cruise on Lake Thun and see the castles lining its shores?  Prefer to take a day trip to the charming city of Lucerne?  Wish to enjoy a hot air balloon ride from Interlaken?  Prefer to be dropped off right at the gondola?
