Explore France's most spectacular and historically significant castles, and do it riding a horse selected just for you.  Visit and tour Chambord, Beauregard, Cheverny, Blois, Chenonceau, and Amboise, and discover the heart of French history.  Comfortable and refined accommodations, with private bathrooms, near each castle.  Enjoy gourmet meals from the heart of France -- picnics with foie gras, candlelight dinners.  End the magical experience with two days in luxury hotel in Paris.

Itinerary

Day 1 -- Private transfer from Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris to Chambord.  Dinner and briefing.

Day 2 -- Chambord.  Three-hour ride in the morning along the Grand Canal with spectacular views of Chateau de Chambord.  Lunch and afternoon visit of the castle.  Gourmet dinner.

Day 3 -- Three-hour morning ride from Chambord to chateau de Beauregard through the Boulogne forest. Guided visit through the castle.  Picnic with foie gras.  Shorter afternoon ride
to Cheverny.  Visit Château de Cheverny, followed by dinner.

Day 4 -- Morning two-hour ride to medieval chateau of Fougères sur Bièvre.
Visit of the medieval Château de Fougères sur Bièvre.  Lunch there, followed by three-hour afternoon ride to Chaumont sur Loire, then following the Loire river to Château de Chaumont sur Loire.  Visit the château and dinner.
Day 5 -- Morning two to three-hour hour ride toward Amboise by the Loire river.  Lunch in a restaurant in a charming village.  The horseback part of the adventure ends with afternoon two to three-hour ride to Château d’Amboise, arriving by “la porte des Lions”, the medieval king’s door.  Private guided visit of the historical Château d’Amboise where Leonardo da Vinci is buried. Gourmet diner and night at hotel along the Loire river in Amboise.

Day 6 --  Morning visit of Clos Lucé, last home of Leonardo da Vinci, and its exhibitions.  Free time in the charming old center of Amboise, followed by lunch.  In the afternoon, visit the fantastic Château de Chenonceau and its gardens. Gourmet dinner.

Day 7 -- Breakfast and departure by private transfer to Paris.  

Day 8 -- Full day to enjoy Paris.

Day 9 -- Depart from Paris (or extend your visit).

What Is Not Included

•   Air fare, but we will identify suggested flights and we will be delighted to help find options most suited to your preferences, frequent flier programs, etc.  

•   Alcoholic beverages other than wine.

Cost

•   $6,500/person (double occupancy).  Single occupancy surcharge $1,000.
